These scissors are modelled after Tokugawa Ieyasu's beloved sword, with the sheath featuring the Tokugawa family crest, the "Aoi Mon" (hollyhock crest). Ieyasu was a pivotal figure in Japanese history who founded the Tokugawa Shogunate, a military government that ruled Japan for over 260 years during the Edo period (1603–1868).
Handcrafted in Seki City, Japan, a region with an 800-year tradition of blade-making dating back to the Kamakura period, these scissors honour a legacy of precision and artistry. The Seki swords became renowned nationwide for their artistry and practicality, celebrated for being "unbreakable, unbending, and exceptionally sharp."
